On 24 December 2014, The National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People�s Republic of China (NHFPC) has published a notice (No. 21 of 2014) to approve 37 China national standards. Among them, Hygienic Standard of Packaged Drinking Water (GB19298) was modified extensively, which attached many attentions. The new Hygienic Standard of Packaged Drinking Water will come into effect on 24 May 2015, and will replace the Hygienic Standard of Bottled Drinking Water (GB19298-2003) and Bottled Purified Water (GB17323-1998). The new standard changed the description for scope of application, requirements of raw material and sensory property, physicochemical indexes and microbial indicators.
