บทคัดย่อ (Eng) :	This report aims to provide representative examples of some of the many alternative materials that are either available commercially, or are in development. It is intended to encourage entrepreneurs, ‘startups’ and established businesses - as well as researchers in the fields of materials science, engineering, agronomy and related fields – to explore more effective and sustainable products and practices. The overall aim should be to reduce society’s dependence on the unnecessary use of plastics, especially from fossil-fuel sources.
บทคัดย่อ (ไทย) :	รายงานนี้แสดงตัวอย่างวัสดุทางเลือกทั้งที่อยู่ในเชิงพาณิชย์แล้วและที่กำลังพัฒนา เพื่อกระตุ้นผู้ประกอบการ สตาร์ทอัพ และกลุ่มธุรกิจ รวมทั้งนักวิจัยในสาขาวัสดุศาสตร์ วิศวกรรม การเกษตร และสาขาอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้อง ให้สำรวจผลิตภัณฑ์และวิธีปฏิบัติที่ยั่งยืนและมีประสิทธิภาพกว่าเดิม โดยมุ่งหวังว่าในที่สุดแล้วสังคมจะลดการใช้พลาสติกที่ไม่จำเป็นโดยเฉพาะพลาสติกที่มาจากแหล่งฟอสซิล ซึ่งจะช่วยลดปริมาณขยะพลาสติกและไมโครพลาสติกในทะเล
